Meet the CounselorCounselor L. Causey has served in the Alternative Programs for over 19 years in grades kindergarten through twelve. She earned her Bachelor's of Science (Psychology) at Tennessee State University, Master's of Education (School Counseling) at Freed-Hardeman University, and continues studies at Freed-Hardeman University.
As a native Memphian, Counselor Causey believes every child has a special purpose and her goal is to help each child work toward that purpose with resilience and optimism. She has received numerous awards and recognition for her work, including The Alternative Programs Spirit Award (2007), Alternative Programs Parent Support Group Recognition (2006), Tennessee Department of Education Tennessee Trailblazer (2010), and Teacher Effectiveness Measure Level 5 (2011-present). Counselor Causey specializes in providing unique counseling experiences for students with music, hands on activities, role playing, therapeutic play, technology, and literacy integration. |
